Fernbank Offers Exciting Weekend for Black History Celebration ATLANTA, GA, Feb. 14 ¿ The weekend of February 21 will provide metro-Atlanta residents with the opportunity for a unique experience in Black History. The DeKalb County School System¿s Fernbank Science Center, in conjunction with its year long Century of Flight celebration program is sponsoring ¿Trail Blazers to Torch Bearers,¿ Black Aviation Past, Present and Future. The ¿kickoff¿ event starts at 6:30 Friday, February 21. On hand as speakers and presenters for Friday are Tuskegee Airmen, Black airline pilots and youths representing the Civil Air Patrol, Aviation Career Enrichment and Organization of Black Airline Pilots ACE Summer Camps. Representing Past Aviators are Tuskegee Airmen, Charles ¿A-Train¿ Dryden, Val Archer and Sydney Wolfe. Present Aviators are George ¿Paco¿ Sulmers, United Air Lines captain, and Delta Air Lines first officer David Grant. Future Aviators are Keynan Jackson, founder and president of the JAGS aero club and Civil Air Patrol member, and Brian Duncan, solo student pilot representing the OBAP summer flying camp, ¿Delta Flight Line¿ and the Aviation Career Enrichment (ACE) program. On Saturday, February 22, Fernbank will show the HBO movie, ¿The Tuskegee Airmen.¿ After the showing, the audience will be able to personally meet and greet Tuskegee Airmen Charles ¿A-Train¿ Dryden, Val Archer and Sydney Wolfe. Saturday¿s activities will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. The Sunday, February 23 event will be A Celebration of a Child¿s Creative Spirit. This includes: ¿I Believe I can Fly¿ DeKalb County Student Art Exhibit, African Folktales by a professional story teller, and the Planetarium Show, ¿An Adventure Under the Stars of Africa.¿. *****
