Although the original Model B aircraft were mass-produced at the Wright
factory, they were not built on an assembly line. Each was hand made. The
Wright Experience has followed this practice, only on a smaller scale. When
the first machine was commissioned and production began, parts were made for
three complete airplanes.
It takes approximately two years to complete each machine. Components
are assembled individually and then brought together in the final
assembly of the airplane. In all cases, historical plans are consulted
as an initial guide, but are cross-referenced against other
documentation and new measurements taken from artifacts.
